The Devil Speaks

Recent quote from the Israeli politician Avigdor Liberman, "From my perspective, anyone coming here on the merit of the Law of Return and serves in the IDF is more Jewish that all the talmidei yeshivos."

In other words, the military is his religion and he wants to impose it on everyone. In Liberman's deranged mind, waving a gun around makes you more Jewish than studying Torah or keeping Shabbos. And this is the so-called kingmaker, the man with enough strategic political power to twice and counting hold up formation of a government. Some Jewish state.

He says, "The law must compel everyone to serve in the IDF or a civilian service to the state. Muslims too. We must impose the most severe sanction."

So all people must serve in the IDF or national service, without exception, but he doesn't offer a reason. Is he bringing communism to Eretz Yisroel? What's so sacred about the government? Must everyone serve the government even if via make work? The military already has too many soldiers, and national service, as they call it, is just a collection of bogus jobs. Does a plumber not contribute to society? Do I have to be employed by the government to contribute to society? Any productive person contributes to society. It doesn't have to be part of a government program. The chances are that jobs created by market demand contribute more to society than jobs invented by bureaucrats. Liberman claims to be a conservative but lacks any sense of the libertarian ideals that are fundamental to true conservatism. Conservatives believe in small government and religious freedom.

What you are seeing here is not a conservative but a power crazed, fascistic, hateful man. He wants to destroy Orthodox Judaism by forcing it through the atheistic government apparatus. He loves control. He wants to tell you who you should be. You could put his photo next to the word egomaniac in the dictionary. There is not one person on planet earth that I despise more than Avigdor Liberman.

He screams about Charedi unemployment but leaves out the fact (despite his claiming to be a man of facts) that young Charedim cannot work without losing their draft exemption. You cannot work even one day without losing it. And what we are telling you, you bloated, decadent beast is that the military is -- like the former Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman -- anti-religious. That is why we want no part of it. If the man would try listening instead of pontificating he might come to grasp if only a tiny bit the Charedi persepective.

If there is an more obnoxious, destructive, blowhard on the planet than Liberman then please tell me who that might be.
